TLC furniture was on Ikebana exhibition !

An exhibition of Ikebana, the Japanese traditional art of arranging cut flowers, was held in Shinjyuku Takashima-ya last month, arranged by Ohara school (one of the popular Ikebana schools in Japan) .

For this event which commemorated 90th anniversary of brunch office foundation and 40th anniversary of youth group foundation, some of our furniture were displayed as part of ikebana !!

Ohara school is originated by the First Headmaster Unshin Ohara, this is ikebana where materials are arranged as if they are piled up in low flat containers with a wide surface area of water.

It includes the Color Scheme Moribana, which expresses beauty of color, and the Landscape Moribana, in which the beauty of natural scenery is represented. (Reference from Ohara school HP.)

How do you feel the Japanese art of flower? It is simply putting flowers in container,
however it is also disciplined art form in which the arrangement is a living thing where nature and humanity are brought together.

The chest which has many tiny drawers is a Medicine Chest.
In Joseon Dynasty, it is said that a lot of new styles of furniture was developed depending on usages, and widely expanded to the world. This types of medicine chest was mainly used by Chinese Doctor for keeping Chinese medicines.

Snow in Tokyo

when I went out from Subway Exit, I was surprised becaouse the street is covered with snow!

Snow falling in Tokyo is not usual.
Peaple lives in Tokyo Area isn't used to walk on the snow, especialy on the frozen snow.....

The news said 100 peaple got injured from falling down.
And weather forecast said Japan is going to be gripped by cold weather.
It is possible snow falls again, be careful...
